The 10'' Ecosoft Polyphosphate Crystal Filter contains a mixture of polymeric metaphosphate compounds, the main one of which is hexametaphosphate (hexamer of phosphate) which is why they are often referred to as hexametaphosphate crystal filters.

As the water passes through the filter, the crystals slowly dissolve in it, giving it new properties. The polyphosphate crystals act as dispersants in the water and exert a protective effect against the formation of calcium and magnesium deposits (hardness), corrosion as well as problems related to the presence of iron. More specifically, the ions that constitute hardness (calcium and magnesium) are kept independent (do not aggregate) and their precipitation is no longer possible. In this way, known problems related to water hardness are prevented (scale formation in pipes, washing machine resistors, etc.). In addition, a protective film is created on metal surfaces that protects them from acidity/alkalinity, hardness, chloride ions and other factors that affect the corrosion of water installations.
